Vitamins for me and my kids

I was never really one to take vitamins. I remember taking folic acid during both of my pregnancies but that is it really. Recently I decided that it was time for me and my children to take some.

Whilst on a shopping trip in Bromley a few months ago, I popped into Holland & Barrett and bought some Biotin for myself and some Healthy Kids Multi Vitamins for Leshay (age 9) and Jaray (age 7).

Biotin

What is it for?

Supports the maintenance for normal skin, hair and mucous membranes.

Directions of use

I usually take 3 a day, you are allowed to take 1-4 a day, preferably with a meal.

Results

I have been taking these for 3 months now and haven’t seen that much change in my hair or skin however my nails are now really long and super strong so I am really pleased with the result. I did pop back to get some more however the sales assistant recommended a slightly different vitamin because I told him that I am trying to grow my hair longer and he recommended these that I will try next:

What is it for?

Results

I haven’t started to take these yet as still I have 1 tub of Biotin left but once I have taken these for a few months I will report back to you and let you know how I get on!

Healthy kids Multi vitamins

What is it for?

Provides support to growing kids health and bones. Contains vitamin A, B, C, D and E

Directions of use

They are for children age 3 years and over, they can have only one gummy per day. My children normally take theirs every morning after their breakfast.

Results

They have been taking these for 3 months now and if I’m honest I haven’t seen that much change however as they are growing kids, I feel happy that they enjoy taking these and are gaining all of the extra benefits that these vitamins provide! They are little bear shaped gummy ‘sweets’ and my children love them, they also had some in orange flavour with added Omega 3 but I stayed with the multi vitamin ones simply because they were on offer ☺️ but I will go back and get some of them next time!

Lemon and Ginger Tea

Lemon and Ginger Tea

It is just so cold outside!

..And I am not made for winter! It isn't too bad now that I have my new winter coats but still as much as I love wearing them, I cant wait for the warm sunny days to arrive when no coats are even needed!

I eat my vegetables often, but tend to struggle to eat fruit at this time of year. I feel happier within myself if I drink lots of water and have recently started drinking lots of hot boiled water. And after being given the advice from a friend, I have been drinking lots of hot lemon and ginger water too!

How I make mine:


  • I dice a piece of fresh ginger into small peices and place into a cup
  • then I slice a piece of fresh lemon and add that to my cup of ginger
  • I then pour over it with freshly boiled water and leave it to infuse for a few minutes before drinking it.

I love it! And I feel so much better for drinking it rather than drinking too many cups of coffee and english tea all day (with milk and one sugar) for me this is a nice, cosy, warming and relaxing drink to enjoy during our wintery days.

  • Great for stimulating digestion
  • Provides protection against the development of cancer cells and polyps
  • Builds up the immune system

  • Quick and easy to make
  • Basically it's great!! Lol

I tried to get my children to drink it too but they wasn't too keen, they have one or two sips to make me happy but then the rest is left and I hate waste so I tend to make it just for myself now and encourage them to drink plenty of plain water instead!
